Top 10 Most Desirable Tourist Destination in the Philippines: Puerto Princesa, Palawan

If you want to escape from the busy city and you want to feel relax and re-connect to the nature. I will recommend Puerto Princesa in Palawan. Puerto Princesa is one of the most famous tourist spot in the Philippines, because one of the newly titled 7 wonders of  nature is located here, The Puerto Princesa Underground River.

Puerto Princesa City is One hour flight away from Manila (Capital City of the Philippines) and there are various airlines en-route to PPC, The airline ticket is not that expensive, and if you are lucky some airlines has promos low as Php. 1 (Piso fare)

Here are the things you should do, eat and see in Puerto Princesa

1. Puerto Princesa Underground River

If you want to visit the site, you have to get your permit one month before the trip, so if you’re planning to go to Palawan, you should have you bookings one month prior to your travel date. From Puerto Princesa City, it is 2 hours and 15 mins to Sabang port, there you will ride a 10 seater boat to the PPUR. Then when you get there you will pay Php. 40 pesos for the environmental fee, these fees will be use for preservation of the site. It will surely be a great experience for you, you’ll know how amazing it is and I’ll tell you its really a wonder of nature. I will not tell you what’s inside, I want your curiosity brings you to that place. If you’re afraid to ride boats, don’t worry Bangkeros are well used to the site and they speak English.

2. Honda Bay Island Tour

In this tour, you’ll visit 3 Islands: Starfish Island, Pandan Island and Snake Island. Some tour package includes picnic buffet at panda island, if you want to do Island hopping, ask your Travel Agent about it. You can do Snokeling, Swimming and a lot more. In Snake Island, it doesn’t mean that there’s a lot of snake in that island but, it because the island itself is shape like a snake. Amazing isn’t? On the day to the port, you’ll stop by to rent snorkeling materials, so you don’t have to worry if you didn’t bring your gadgets.

3. Tamilok (Palawan’s Delicacy)

After we had our Underground River Tour, we had our buffet lunch. Just ask your Travel Agent about it. We heard about the famous exotic delicacy of Palawan, The Tamiloc. What is a Tamiloc? Tamiloc consist of long slimy worm soak to vinegar, Php. 100 per plate.  You can find it at Kinabuch Restaurant (Local restaurant). it is a must try!

What I like about Palawan is they use van as transfers, they don’t have buses. They also preserve the islands very well, I hope someday people will see this wonderful island.
