Bohol is a beautiful island located in Central Visayas. It is known for its famous Chocolate Hills,Tarsiers and Baroque Churches. This is my first local tour and I didn’t expect that I will be experiencing such a wonderful time. According to our tour guide, The island was submerged into the waters from a long time ago. It was true because, until now you can still find a lot of limestone scattered along the roads.

October 13, 2013 – A very heartbreaking event happened. 7.2 Magnitude hit the island as well as the other province besides them.  It is one of deadliest earthquake ever recorded in the Philippine history. All the old churches was affected, some are thankfully survived and doesn’t have that much damaged but, for some they are completely destroyed.

I will tell you everything about it in my next post about “My Bohol Adventure” but in the mean time, we’ll talk about Panglao Island.

How to get there?

There are a lot of ways to get there,

Via Flight – There are several airlines that bounds to Tagbilaran. (Cebu Pacific,  Zest Air, Air Phil and Philippine Airlines) It will be an hour and 15 minutes flight, 7 days a week.

Via Ferry – If you want to relax and feel the breeze of the Phillipine seas, there are also shipping lines that offers the same route.

If you want to know the schedules of the trip you can click here BOHOL

From Tagbilaran, mostly if you have an arrangements in the Island, It will take more than 18 mins to reach Panglao. One good thing is that, along the way you’ll pass by the old churches, you can stop by for a moment to take pictures.

The Island

We had our stay in Panglao Island Nature Resort and Spa. If you’re planning to visit this place, I will definitely recommend this resort. Very beautiful and you can reconnect with the nature, it may be deluxe since you’ll stay in a “bahay-kubo” typed of cottage but, money wise they’re really worth it.

Let’s rate them! 4A’s of Tourism

Amenities – 9/10

They should put some more lighting,  people sometimes wants to walk around especially at night. They have spas and more swimming pool. The resort is very big, you need a golf cart to look around.

Assessibility – 8/10

18-20 mins away from the city proper.

Accommodation – 10/10

The furnitures in the room are all in good quality, Interior wise, and Very spacious. If you’re also looking for a place to spend your honeymoon. this is the right place for you.  The next cottage beside you is too far that you cannot hear the people inside talking, as if you have your own place.

Attraction – 10/10

White sand beach and clear blue water plus an islet, you can set up a romantic dinner there with your special someone, or  dine there with your friends. There is also an underground cave in the resort, ask the front desk for help to accompany you to the cave.

  1. Looks beautiful 🙂 It reminds me of Semillon Island near Cebu, though in your last photo this doesn’t look far away from Cebu either! Also – was that a wooden bath in the cottage? I’ve never seen that before, haha.
